URBAN EXPLORATIONS

The central theme of my work is life in the city. I am fascinated by the diverse components of cities and urban areas- the buzz of the streets, quiet spaces at dawn and dusk, the grandeur of buildings and architecture, and the hidden beauty of alleyways and pavements. The city offers endless inspiration, the essence of which I seek to capture in a bold, graphic and dynamic style.

I have been working on several projects connected to this overarching theme over the past few years including Street Scenes and Cityscapes, both of which you can explore further in this site. Much of this work featured in a solo exhibition in Nicolls Gallery, Glasgow, in December 2023.

Recently I have expanded on the urban explorations theme, to include interior spaces. A new piece, 'Mixed-Up Records', can be viewed on the home page of this site; and is the first in the City Life series, that will feature independent, underground and alternative record, book, and clothes shops. 

 

​​Recently commissioned artwork has included CD covers for Forwind Music label, poster designs for the short film 'The Mobius Trip'; and cover art/design for the electronic music artists Imeall, Brishta, and Binary Undertakers.

 

The majority of my work is digitally printed on German etching paper, using the world class facilities of the Glasgow Print Studio, in special limited editions of 30.
